I subscribe to a newsletter these loons send because they make me laugh. This one made me clutch my breast last week.

Don't let Katrina survivors' voting rights get washed away!
''As
if losing their homes, jobs, and family members were not enough,
displaced Katrina survivors are now at risk of being denied their
Constitutional right to vote in Louisiana elections.
''Under
Louisiana's current election plans, a high percentage of the state's
registered voters who have relocated to other cities and states are in
danger of being excluded from the voting process (in Louisiana). Many of them are
low-income African Americans and immigrants.''
|
They want satellite voting so that these
relocated citizens can still vote for Louisiana's
Democrats, lest the people who still live in the Swamp State cut their
umbilical cord to the State's treasury. Here's another laugher:
|
''For instance, on Monday, February 13th,
FEMA's short-term hotel program expires for most of the 26,000
displaced hurricane survivors, yet most of these evacuees have not been
provided with long-term, or even transitional, housing solutions.''

Jefferson's admonition that “Experience hath
shewn, that even under the best forms (of government) those entrusted
with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into
tyranny,” is translated by some as referencing the tyranny of rotton room service whilst hanging from the government tit.

The government tit is MY wallet. And it's nearly falling apart from abusive guvmint picking. Let's hope the flooding in NO had one positive effect...(washed) out w/the old, and in w/something CLEAN. 'bout time the pups get shaken from the teet. joyce
ReplyDeleteThere you go again Rodger, talking about hangings and tits ...:D
ReplyDeleteI would like to see a summary of the job search activities of the hotel evictees. I'll bet it would be pretty sparse.
Speaking of wallets joyce, I keep thinking what a wonder we would have here if suddenly our taxes were halved.

Unfortunately, I am so cynical that this isn't even news to me. Ugh. Mary
