Whence Happiness?

I was only half paying attention, but the study showing that Republicans are much happier than Liberals, Commies and other Democrats became a point of conversation yesterday on THIS WEEK with a CLINTON CRONY.  George Will's reasoning, as to why that is, was political in nature  Conservatives don't expect many victories, given the overwhelming bias against them, so are never disappointed over setbacks, and delightfully surprised over victories.  Hey, even I'm not buying that one, although even now I admit to having no expectation that a giant bird will eat Nancy Pelosi and shit her into a volcano, but if it happened I would be kind of cheery. Instead, Cokie Roberts seemed to hit the mark.  Her reason was that Republicans were far more likely to be church goers, and place value on family.  That combination is happy happy.  Makes sense to me.
