I'm glad to hear it, even if it does display a certain American ignorance about the outside world. Should the day ever come when foreign troops - and that includes the U.N. - tread on U.S, soil, even if Jimmy Carter invited them, I would hope they'd be shot dead in a heartbeat. (I mean that in the good way). Actually, the newsgroups I found discussing this were just having fun with it. Remember when China bit on an Onion spoof that had the U.S. Capitol - with a retractable dome - relocated to Memphis? Foriegners have a hard time with American humor, like thinking the Clinton Administration wasn't just a bad joke. . |
