scream-of-consciousness;
"If you're trying to change minds and influence people it's probably not a good idea to say that virtually all elected Democrats are liars, but what the hell."
Sounds familiar.. I was threatened and nearly suspended for informing my footbal coach/"History teacher" that the U.S. DI NOT drop the second atomic bomb on Dresden..
Did three decades in the public school classroom, and I can tell better ones than these- but the letter needs to have its bonafides restored to be credible. Given the present state of the schools, it's amazing that anyone with an IQ over 100 ever considers teaching.
My niece, after two years in special education, and gathering universal praise for her talent and energy, has announced she won't go back for a third term. Reason? Got nothing to do with those special-needs kids, and everything to do with special-needs adults.
My 9th grade math teacher told me that I was "hopeless at math and should avoid it at all costs for the rest of my life." But that was a 3.7 High School GPA, BS in Mechanical Engineering, an MS in Computer Science and a 21 year career working in Naval Weapons Development ago. I guess I should have listened to her and gone to work at McDonalds instead...
Reminds me of the time I got detention in 5th Grade for insisting that poles with similar charge repell each other; that opposite charges attract.
ReplyDeleteTook a little after-school attention with an encyclopedia to get that straightened out for the teach'.
