Now
we have a grade schooler who
advocated killing the President of the
United States, because she "doesn't like his politics.," Of course,
adolescents can be programmed to hate, just as generations of
Palestinians have been. In post Clinton America, hate is a
gruel freely
served at the liberal cafe. It's fair to assume that young Julia was
propagating ideas she learned at home, in the school room, and from her
peers. Don't think that this incident will
cause any reevaluation. Not with popups like Ann
Brick at the ready.
''Ann Brick, an attorney with the American Civil Liberties Union of
Northern California, Julia Wilson's post did not sound like a "true
threat" to the president, making it political speech that is protected
by the First Amendment.
"The courts have to distinguish between political rhetoric and
hyperbole and a real threat," Brick said. "A reasonable person would
have to interpret what was said as indication of a serious intent to
commit harm."

Don't we have a lot to look forward to.
Just like you don't yell 'FIRE' in a dark theater, you don't vocally threaten the President. I bet Julia's parents vote democrat.
ReplyDeleteKitty C
I think that's a safe bet Kitty. Kids don't usually rebel agaist their parent's beliefs until age 17, or so. I also suspect there's no religion in that home.
ReplyDeleteI am amazed that the parents and kid are making a big deal out of it. The Secret Service saw a threat on the 'net. They sent a couple of agents out and taled to the kid for fifteen minutes, determined that she was not a big danger, told her about the rules about threatening the Pres and went on their way.
ReplyDeleteNo beatings or Chinese bullet in the head with the family charged for the bullet, no Saddam-style rapes, they talked to the kid.
In a just world there would be a bounty on whining Libs.
