In Passing

Passing Gas

The Coming Fury of an Angry America
It cost 1 billion dollars and four years to have .9% of the earth elect the President of the United States in 2008. It took a similar amount of time and money to be the guy that lost. Hundreds of millions more are expended to elect the 535 people who make up the United States Congress. (Rantburg)

Scott Brown for Senate

Sarah Palin a Vessel for Mounting White Discontent? Sarah Palin a Fame Monster?

Re NYT Blow job -- The author is dismayed that a "plurality" of Whites consider George W. Bush a better president than Barack Obama. He thinks Whites who did vote for BO did it because he was "Negro-Lite."

Does this mean that we'uns are better informed, and way, way smarter than these canker blossoms?
Yes.  Yes it means just that.

Tigerhawk Collection of Today's Retractions

Retraction #1
Goddamn. If you read the whole thing it is clear that the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change was wholly unprincipled and unprofessional in its glacier "science." If that is the quality of work coming out of the IPCC, the Climategate email hack is just the tip of the iceberg. As it were.

Retraction #2
U.S. intelligence agencies are quietly revising their widely disputed assertion that Iran has no active program to design or build a nuclear bomb.

This stuff cracks me up.  She had too much cholesterol.

Cape Cod Times earlier this week, Brown was critical of President Bush and defended President Obama regarding the current financial crisis.

That would be a big-old fail for him.

In his last re-election to the state Senate in 2008, Brown won by a 59-41 percent margin. Part of his success comes from his willingness to work with Democrats on important issues.

"I would not have been overwhelmingly re-elected if I didn't know how to work across party lines," Brown said in the primary. "If the Democrats have a good idea, I'd be happy to vote with them."

Translation: vote like a Democrat.

In short, he's a McCain-style Republican and not going to vote in ways that please us very much. BUT he isn't running to represent us, he wants to represent one of the most Liberal states in the country. There's no way a Conservative will ever win there, only more or less Socialist. His being Socialist-lite is still an improvement. Plus the sheer joy of seeing even a RINO win that seat and send Coakey packing is a multiple win for the Good Guys.

Notice how Coakley goes overboard paint him as a "far-extreme right-winger teabagger" at every chance? To her, that fits everyone to the right of Che Guverra. She wouldn't survive if she met a real one, the shock would kill her.

It's not quite a win for Brown yet: SEIU, ACORN, HCAN, Working Families Party, NARAL, and CPUSA are all playing Chicago politics in Boston.

The roll over looks like how I felt after a bad souvlaki in Souda Bay one night. It also involved Greek beer and Ouzo.

The Times article says the IPCC report on glaciers gave a WWF study as its source. That's what you get when you depend on the World Wrestling Federation for your science...

This could hamper World Wrestling's Linda McMahon's run for the senate.

Arthur - I think it's notes for Obambi - he couldn't have a teleprompter.
Tim - That's what you get for messing about with Greek beer. Everyone knows you drink retsina with souvlaki, and have the Ouzo for dessert. When in Souda Bay, do as the sailors do.
