I watched a crime show today.  A woman, we'll call her Helen, was accused of killing her employer, the owner of a nursing home.  This is a partial list of the evidence they had against  her. She had just delivered  a child by Cesarean birth, but went back to work the next day. The nursing home administrator, it was discovered she'd been embezzling the crap out of it, and the employer had been looking at the books.  Ruh-roh. Witnesses saw a woman matching Helen's description trying to set a car on fire by wicking the gas tank. They chased her for a bit before going back to put put the fire before the car exploded. They said the women was carrying a small package in one arm, and holding her abdomen as she ran. Inside the car they found Helen's employer, shot in the head at close range. The recovered gun belonged to her boyfriend who said had taken it off his bureau that very morning. The victim's blood was found in the gun barrel. Helen's clothing tested positive for gun powder. Helen alibied that she was  shopping at  Target, about 30 minutes away, during the time in question.  Cell phone recorded showed her making a call at the crime scene during that time. The D.A.didn't want to take it before a jury, because he didn't have an eye witness putting Helen in the car!?!.  He cut a deal for second degree manslaughter.  She'll be out of prison in 8 years or so.  This video was made in China, but could have been made anywhere in the USA 50 years ago.  And we liked it that way.
