Taking a college class on Creativity, Innovation and New Product development. We have a weekly discussion that we post to online here was the question:

"Drug Company X has entered the AIDS vacine market with a new product that can prevent (not cure) people from ever getting AIDS. Great news, right? Problem is, it COSTS $5000 to make one dose. Can you imagine the actual price to the consumer?

How would you, as Secretary General of the United Nations, make this vaccine available to everyone in the world?"

WTH?

My Reply

Teach responsible sex, and free condoms. Why must we subsidize other peoples irresponsibility?

Causes:
UnMonogamy (not my problem)

Drug use. (again not my problem)

Cases like rape, I think that we, as a benevolent society should help others and this falls under charity.

If you want to do these things, more power to you, just don't expect me to pick up the bill for your irresponsibility. Oh, and Ban the UN.

This question would be better phrased: "If you were King for a day..." This question lacks understanding as to what the SecGen can do and the UN's limits in the US based upon the constitution being the supreme law of the land.

I am still figuring out how this applies to this class? Socialism? Marxism?

I wonder how many replies I get to this."

If anyone cares I will post any comments to the conversation.
