Amazon asked me to review the Sennheiser
Wireless Headphones I bought last month, so I did.

Years of rock bands and machine gunning leave me
damned near deaf. For
the past 3-4 years I turned to TV Ears (3 different sets at $100+) so I
can understand what's being said in British movies. TV Ears are among
the
most poorly engineered products I've encountered. They are overpriced,
uber uncomfortable with ear pads that keep falling off, and
not easily
replaced; have a battery life between recharges measured in
hours, and
are line-of-sight so don't go to the bathroom during a movie.
When the last pair's expensive to replace proprietary battery died, I
went shopping for something else. Someone suggested Sennheiser. There
are a zillion models; I went with medium cheap (about $79).
It's only been a month, and so far I love them. The stereo sound is
crisp. I
can run after the dog outside and never lose the signal. They're
comfortable; and the batteries are great. I will, five out of
seven nights, fall asleep wearing them. When I wake up they're
still working, and I'm still using the same AA
rechargeable batteries that came with it. I've dropped them on
the
(wood) floor a few times; nothing broke. What else it there? I
endorse them for President. |

ReplyDeleteGood idea for me ol' Mom, Rodge.
Now, when I show up to do errands, I'll be able to stand on the porch, banging on the door like an idiot, watching through the window as she sits watchin' golf on TV with her hearing aids turned off.
I have one, based on your recommendation. It works just fine.
ReplyDeleteI attribute my tinnitus in my left ear to too many years of rock and roll, old country music, shooting guns and car racing.
ReplyDeleteAll in all, a reasonable trade-off.
Just remember this bit of advise. Do not leave them laying arround where the dog might get them. I have replaced mine twice because the dog love chewing on the ear pads.
ReplyDeleteYou can also get a second set of headphones only if you ever feel the need to please your bride.

I'm a big fan of Sennheiser stuff. I have a couple of their pro studio microphones and they're just tremendous.
ReplyDeleteI have a hearing problem too, but my solution is a bit different. I bought a small FM xmitter (no license required)Its broadcast range is about 150 ft. I carry a small Sangean pocket radio in my pocket to use when I want to hear without missing anything.
ReplyDeleteI also have one connected to my computer sound output so I can listen to streaming audio (Quinn, Beck & Rush) while I'm busy around the house and yard.

but the real question is would you nominate them for a peace prize.

I left a review. Takes 48 hours for it to clear. There's a chance mine won't. Miami, Chief?
