North Korea? They'd all desert as soon as they found the first supermarket.
ReplyDelete!
ReplyDeleteLotsa times an actor from the original does a cameo in the remake. Patrick Swayze can play a dead guy!

If the remake is bad,
ReplyDeleteI expect a chorus of
"Revenge me!"
^ D'oh!
ReplyDeleteWhat the cuhnel meant to say was,
"Avenge me! Avenge me!"
The original villains in Red Dawn II were PRC soldiers.
ReplyDeleteThen some libtard got his panties in a wad at the last minute.
A damned good reason to give this movie a miss ... you can be sure they turned it into lame dreck.
Remakes are usually so inferior to the originals that they should never be made, let alone watched.
ReplyDeleteYep, they changed it to the Nor'K's from China because China is a huge demographic and they didn't want to alienate the ChiCom box office so they changed it in post production.
ReplyDeleteThis was filmed before Thor and the lead actor was bulking up for the role. It is said that you can actually see his neck getting bigger through the movie, and in the trailer.
thoR~
If the North Koreans invaded the South, they would run out of gas before reaching Seoul. How on Earth would they have the logistics to get here?

PS John Milius made many a classic.
I just want to see it to find out how badly they screwed it up in the remake.
ReplyDeleteThe original bad guys WERE Chinese. When the Chinese bailed out the studio, they spend tens of millions of dollars CGI'ing out all the Chinese uniforms and insignia, replacing them with NorKs.
ReplyDeleteThe movie will still tank, but they kept from displeasing their new masters....
I never liked Red Dawn because I recognized it for what it is, a re-telling of WW2 invasion of the Soviet Union with the Russians, Cubans and Nicaraguans taking the place of the Germans, Italians and Rumanians.
