Poirot

From Sherlock to Poirot

After I mentioned my addiction to Sherlock Holmes, I started to (mini) panic.  I was down to the last 10 episodes, and required a back-up series, stat! After trying several  "Like Sherlock Holmes" recommendations, I found Agatha Christie's Poirot.  Never read a Poirot book, nor watched any of the Masterpiece Theater (PBS) episodes.  Horry Clap!  If anything, I like these better  than Sherlock;  and I love Sherlock.  But now I'm down to the last 5 of these on NetFlix (who offer only season one from 1989).  HA! Amazon Instant Watch has them all! (and a ROKU connection)  The first time Amazon has anything I can't get on NetFlix.  I can now Poirot myself to death.

James O’Keefe’s Project Veritas demonstrates to the Attorney General of the United States, Eric Holder, just why he should be concerned about lack of voter ID laws –Poll Workers on Primary Day in Washington, DC offer ballot to vote... to a complete Stranger. Other voting locations in Washington, DC offer to sign for ballots. Eric Holder has said multiple times there exists no evidence of Voter Fraud.

Obama the intolerable

Obama the (in)tolerant

Res Ipsa Loquitur

In his new book on President Obama's economic policies (co-authored with Grover Norquist), economist John Lott discusses his interactions with then-future President Obama at the University of Chicago. He doesn't paint a pretty picture. TheDC's Jamie Weinstein reports:

"Economist John Lott, noted for his academic advocacy of gun rights, says that when Barack Obama was his colleague at the University of Chicago, the future president treated him as if he were 'evil.' 'He wouldn’t shake hands. It was very clear that Obama disagreed on the gun issue and acted as if he believed that people who he disagreed with were not just wrong, but evil. Unlike other liberal academics who usually enjoyed discussing opposing ideas, Obama simply showed disdain.'" [Full]

This year, July has 5 Fridays, 5 Saturdays and 5 Sundays. This happens once every 823 years. The last time (1189 AD), a ruler who wanted to wanted his court to have authority over everything, and killed anyone who got in his way, died.

I'm not certain who are the most depraved.  The manufacturers of these "toys," or the people who buy them.

Someone needs a good "talkin" to.

Welcome to Baltimore

I guess most of these people got "the talk," but one did not. Can you guess which is which?  From the people who thought Martin O'Malley was a good idea.
