"I have no idea to this day what that Italian lady is singing about. Truth is, I don't want to know.  Some things are best left unsaid.  Now I can think she was singing about something so beautiful it can't be expressed in words and makes your heart ache because of it."  Grin

Jill Abramson - Brain Dead

Answer: Jill Abramson
Question—  "What kind of person could possibly be so stupendously stupid as to have thought Barack Obama was a good idea?"

The executive editor of the New York Times is disputing an accusation of liberal bias made by her very own public editor, Arthur Brisbane.

In his final column for the Times, Brisbane wrote that his fellow staffers "share a kind of political and cultural progressivism" that "virtually bleeds through the fabric of The Times." Brisbane even argued that Times reporters approached some liberal issues, like gay marriage and the Occupy movement, "more like causes than news subjects."

Drudge beat me to it, but this is just too delicious not to have in my archives.

Members of activist groups protest Great State of Maine Air Show
About 75 people protested Saturday

Veterans for Peace was one of the groups that protested the air show of war planes at Brunswick Landing.

Along with the negative environmental effects, the group said events like these glorify war.

According to the group, Thunderbird airplanes drop bombs and kill people.

Group members said these planes should not be used to entertain. [Full]

First off, here are your Veterans for Peace.  Secondly, and radical leftist affiliations aside,  I wonder if these  common scolds and barrators (more commonly called MFCS) are aware of how close many  Americans are to exploding in a fury against them and their ilk?  Not me. I'm too law abiding and in control.  Others.

Is Chicago Sun-Times Easy Gun Access Story BS?

I smell a rat. Today’s Chicago Sun-Times story Getting a gun in Chicago quick and easy strikes me as confabulation. “Want to know how to get a gun? Just ask Chris. The skinny teen attends high school in Chicago and is a talented athlete. But he’s also a notorious gunslinger. As a shooter in a South Side gang, he can get his hands on a gun as quick as you can get a burger at a fast-food restaurant.” Hyperbole for sure. But is Windy City scribe and Pulitzer Prize winner Frank Main [above] another Stephen Glass or Janet Cooke? Here are some of the red flags . . .

The gun-nut left have been manufacturing self-serving "gun data," for years, so that's the first red flag.  But, wtf?  The Sun Times article doesn't have to be BS.  Of course getting a gun  is easy if you're a criminal.  It's what criminals do.  That's the problem in Progressive cities like Chicago, NYC, or Baltimore.  They have guns and you don't.  Blah blah blah. They can also buy smack, meth, or any illegal substance you want.   Or steal a car to order.  Or vote illegally in any election.  They're criminals.  In  cities that indulge  them.  Sheesh.

You're welcome.  A little much for me however.

A Canoe Ride

One must be careful not to regress into living one's nostalgia, lest one drift into melancholiness.  But, sometimes things from the past can have a fun, therapeutic (funapeutic) effect.  Like, for some insane reason (ahem) I was recently moved to search-out and buy a bottle of Canoe (After Shave Splash) that I used in my drive-in movie years.  I haven't used any man's cologne for 20 years.  Not since my secretary confided that she hated the smell of some, neglecting the "I don't mean you; I love your's" exclusion.

When the bottle of Canoe arrived from Amazon,  I splashed some on.  And  I was transported to a beach blanket in Ocean City with me mates. I don't like the term aroma therapy here, lets use aroma indulgence.   I think next I'll take myself  further back in time with some Aquavelva , and Old Spice  Or,  a post Canoe English Leather and Musk for Men .  The smell of Ponds Hand Cream might— no.  I don't need to go back to my BoyScout years.

Islam is a terror organization

Is Barack Hussein Obama finally planning to out himself as a Muslim at the DNC Convention?

This gaudy,  multicolored mixed with all CAPS! text looks like an e-mail promoting some long ago debunked crap that we all get, and which I immediately send to the trash. But, no.  It's a link from WCBM's web page to BareNakedIslam that now, as I type this, comes up a blank page. It referenced this RED STATES Radical Islam Joins the DNC  post.

Starting at the end of this month the Democratic National Convention will open with a focus on Islam. 20,000 Muslims are expected to attend according to the?Bureau of Indigenous Muslim Affairs (BIMA), the national Muslim American non-profit coordinating the two days of events they claim are "non-political. "

It is troubling that the Democratic National Convention has decided to promote and lend its name and national political platform to the organizers of the Jummah at the DNC. (I thought this meant  Jummah was going to do the invocation. Srsly.) The leaders of this event, Jibril Hough and Imam Siraj Wahhaj as advertised are no moderates. They are radicals. These individuals embrace Islamist supremacy and have demonstrated support for radical ideologies.

A quick Google search by the DNC would have shown them that Hough and Wahhaj are leaders in the separatist American Islamist movement.

This is not about their right of assembly; this group under a different name pulled the same stunt at the US capitol in 2009 claiming 20k and getting 2-3k. THIS IS ABOUT the DNC calling this an "official function" listing these radicals as typical of the DNC community and more importantly about this organization speaking out AS representing supposedly typical American Muslims (or "Mainstream").

If that is who the DNC is consorting with then all Americans, Democrats should be concerned. There are many patriotic Muslims who are part of both parties, and when radical ideologues like this do a demonstration of ?solidarity? in the name of our faith and choose an imam like Siraj Wahhaj who I saw with my own eyes in 1995 seditiously say it his duty and our duty as Muslims to replace the US Constitution with the Quran- then we need to speak up!

At this stage, those lot are capable of anything between now and Mitt's inauguration in January, 2013.
