scream-of-consciousness;
"If you're trying to change minds and influence people it's probably not a good idea to say that virtually all elected Democrats are liars, but what the hell."
Verizon guy (bless his overtime heart) fixed us. I don't know whether he knew what all happened; e.g. I was dozing last night around 11:30 PM when MoSup called down to say the phone didn't work. Nor the TV. Nor the 'net.
I went down stairs. and found 2 wires that were hanging loose-- which I left untouched because, after all, nobody had been fooling around in the basement. Well, turned out those wires were supposed to be attached. Not to be paranoid, but the only two explanations are 1) mice pulled the wires out, or 2) someone else was fiddling with our wires and forgot to reconnect them. Ahem.
Had a buddy that lived in the country. His dog was a Doberman. One day his three year old boy discovered the Doberman's startle button. After catching the dog asleep about three times the dog started walking down the road to the nearest neighbors house, about a mile away. He said the dog would stop every once in a while to make sure the kid was still following him. The neighbor lady had baby set the kid before so as soon as she got to the porch were the dog was barking the dog ran home and hid. My buddy said he didn't want to stop his project and he was curious to see how it would all work out.
Once upon a time - A few years ago - We too had Verizon Cell, Home Telephones and Internet. They shoulda' just stuck to what they know best - Cell Phones.
The cell phones was the only thing dependable about them. The Internet was always down, the home phones were "iffy" and the cable, what little we had of it, was no good at all. To make matters worse, when we told them we were cancelling all but the cell phone service they tried to hit us with "early out" charges in spite of our constant outages. So, we paid our bills to their last day of service and told them to keep ALL of their crap.
After trying a few "brand-X" cell phone companies we once again have Verizon's - Just basic, cell phones and they are usually trouble free. God help us if we ever have to call their "Engrish as a second language" customer service though.
Verizon's lack of "customer service" is only exceeded by Com Cast and Time Warner's.

I sensed a disturbance in the interwebs — extended my swim time.
