Global warming is bad

Notable & Quotable: Climate Change and War
Army major general: ‘Our men and women in uniform are smart and perceptive. They can spot phoniness in a heartbeat.’

One source for connecting war to temperature comes from the political closeness between environmentalists and the antiwar movement.Their logic goes like this: “Global warming is bad. Wars are bad. Therefore they must be connected.”
The catalyst for war is the ignorance of leaders that leads them to misjudge. Humans start wars believing they will be profitable, short, glorious and bloodless. These truths never change. None are affected in the least by air temperature.

But the myth of climate change as an inducement to war continues to curry favor among Washington elites. One source for connecting war to temperature comes from the political closeness between environmentalists and the antiwar movement. Their logic goes like this: “Global warming is bad. Wars are bad. Therefore they must be connected.” Remember, prior to the 1991 Gulf War, environmentalists warned of a decade of global cooling that would come from burning Kuwaiti oil fields. . . .

Because the administration has elevated climate change to the status of a primary threat, the military has become an unwitting agent for propagandizing the dangers of climate change to the American people. . . .

Because the administration has elevated climate change to the status of a primary threat, the military has become an unwitting agent for propagandizing the dangers of climate change to the American people. . . .

The administration’s contention that climate change is a national-security threat would be just another example of mindlessly applied political correctness if it were not for the potential impact of this silliness on our actual security.

The military follows orders and intuitively embraces the spoken intent of their commander in chief. A politically correct embrace of climate change as a national-security threat might in time cause our military to embrace alternative sources of energy before these technologies are proven. Should this happen, our men and women in uniform might well be fighting a war with underpowered and poorly performing weapons. [Full Article]

THE COWBOY, THE WHORE, AND THE CARD CHEAT

... a coordinated “attack” in Georgia that led to pro-Trump delegate candidates being challenged and deposed in every corner of the state, which Trump had won resoundingly in the primary.

Prediction alert ... If Hillary and Cruz "win" their respective party nominations, and Donald Trunp runs as an independent, Trump will win (in an honest vote count, if that's possible anymore).

1959 Futureliner

art is everywhere

A few weeks ago I posted on Dave Kindig's Bitchin' Rides artful restoration of a 1959 Buick Invicta.  A few days later the show ran a mind boggling, 2 episode restoration of 1950 GM Futureliner.  Kindig never mentions $$, so the viewer is left to wonder how much money the owner and his girlfriend shelled out to restore the piece of junk they brought in.  We still don't know, but we do know that one sold for $4.1 Million.  I watched the auction and recognized the guy and his girlfriend, so I'm pretty sure this was the Kindig Futureliner.

My only problem now is that I've watched every episode.

Crooked Hillary

ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos, who worked under Bill Clinton in the White House, asked Hillary about the new nickname on This Week.

Americans of all political persuasions are coming to the sad realization that our First Lady -- a woman of undoubted talents who was a role model for many in her generation -- is a congenital liar. William Safire, NYT, 1996!
STEPHANOPOULOS: That’s the new nickname, Crooked Hillary.

Your response?

CLINTON: I don’t respond to Donald Trump and his string of insults, uh, about me. I can take care of myself. I look forward to running against him if he turns out to be the Republican nominee if I am the Democratic nominee.

What I’m concerned about is how he goes after everybody else. He goes after women. He goes after Muslims. He goes after immigrants. He goes after people with disabilities. He is hurting our unity at home. Uh, he is undermining the values that we stand for in New York and across America. And he’s hurting us around the world.

He can say whatever he wants to say about me. I really could care less.

Trump, who attacked Clinton in 2015 for abetting her husband’s treatment of women, continued the new line of attack on her ethics Sunday. “She’s been crooked from the beginning. And to think, she has shot of being our president?” he mocked. “Crooked Hillary Clinton. We can’t let it happen!”

It tears my soul apart that ... that ... this is news? ... and being debated?  Star Chamber stuff. Thank you Donald Trump for saying what every opponent she's ever faced ought have been saying. Balls.

Transgenderism ... the new Hula Hoop

These people are so unbelievably stuipd, and they're a product of a relativistic, self-love society. I had a conversation with someone like this on my university campus. We talked about transgenderism. She said I could identify as a white female even though I'm a black male. In fact, our conversation got to the point where she was okay with me identifying as a guinea pig. She refused to tell me that I'd be wrong if I actually thought that way. Sooooo stuipd and a little scary too. This is our generation. We're fucked.

+JT Faisa Well talk about the uncle tom of guinea pigs. As someone who also identifies as a trans-species-guinea pig I am appalled that you just threw our kind under the bus like you did. And for what? To win an argument? Shame on you!
Stab me in the liver, why don't ya ....
