I was exhausted from drywalling a mission rehab project. Slept til noon yesterday and let the Church Ladies prepare a bounteous feast. After stuffing myself with 6 or 8 varieties of pie (who's counting?), I went back to sleep. Best TG ever.

But we do have a tradition of abusing the Publix loss-leaders. So I get enough turkey to last until they are willing to sell it again for 59¢. At least 40 pounds. I butcher it into lovely boneless breast roasts, throw all the bagged parts into a 165º kettle, and simmer the bones into gallons of high test broth. Been busy sleeping and eating.

Bad news: the turkey didn't thaw out in time. Not even close.
