  3. This was the first thing I thought of.

    I think I've listened to too much Dr. Demento.

  4. It made me wonder whatever happened to that dumbass who threw the puppy off the cliff while his buddy filmed the event and then the morons put it on YouTube.

    Apparently he got drummed out of the Corps. They won't say what, if any, other discipline was meted out.

  5. "let sleep the dogs of war" (above) automatically made me think of Anthony's speech in JC. And it struck me how applicable parts of that speech are to the Middle East situation, so . . . being me, I had to update it slightly:

    Hate and deception shall be so in use
    And dreadful tactics so familiar
    That mothers shall but smile when they behold
    Their infants slaughtered with the hands of war;
    All pity choked with venom toward Israel:
    And Yshmael’s spirit, ranging for revenge,
    With Islam his guide, come hot from hell,
    Shall in these confines with a jihadi's voice
    Cry 'Havoc,' and let slip the dogs of war;
    That this dead land shall smell above the earth
    With carrion men, groaning for burial.
