Let the Games Begin
Gov. Perry Backs Resolution Affirming Texas Sovereignty Under 10th Amendment
Ah, not so much. Perry sees a chance for favorable publicity. He is a politician in every way. In any case, the resolution has essentially no teeth. The only possible effect may be if our congressmen are less than enthusiastic supporters and challengers for their seats make an issue out of it next year.
O's Homeland Security is probably taking names of everyone involved in this and the tea parties tomorrow.
If I didn't live in Texas, and thus already know from bitter experience that he (and our senators) are about 99% hat and 1% cattle, I'd be impressed, too.
Man this is gonna kill an Okie, but, I think once Oklahoma, Louisiana, and South Carolina join this may be more of a serious force. Texas is not the reddest state, but by God it was the first to call the Federal Government out in the street. Way to Hook em Horns.
Now I've been skeptical too, but it greatly heartens me that Jim Inhoff and Tom Coburn are right there with him. I'm turning off my scoff light and watching. Marry the states rights movement to the Tea Party movement, and you have a serious force and the beginning of ....something. BTW, isn't this well timed.
Montana and Idaho are in this same camp. Sovereignty bills have passed the Legislatures and are waiting for the respective Governors. Gives us here in Washington hope. Texas is a long way off.
Just settle for South Carolina Rog. The extra miles will be more than offset by all the different ways you can have shrimp and grits. Dang, I'm drooling, dirty shrimp and grits, Mmmmm.
hey, Maryland was kept in the Union only after Lincoln jailed a few dozen secession-leaning members of the state legislature, and other pro Confederacy folks.

Prollem is, MoSup won't move that far from the kids. I need this in Virginia, or even NC, DE, PA, or WVA. MD is utterly hopeless.
