They are all so young & cute that they look like a girl scout troop on career day:

Makes
me worry about them like my own daughters and nieces. Very humbling to
see these young ladies on the front lines of the war.

Hey Juice - is that your daughter? (I know better. Juice Jr. is a gunner!)

Is that the same crew from 4 years ago? I first saw/read about them then. I retired in '95 and we had women flying then. Seems to be a non story. FWIW, that crew is better looking than some of the ones I saw.

I guess they can't call it the 'cockpit'.
ReplyDeleteNope. It's a Box Office.

Pretty fancy microwave in that kitchen.

Jezzuz, fellas. Pretty cheap shots there. Shame on you.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the story, Rodger. It fills my heart with pride. Yep, my daughter is back in Afghan this April.
Juice
Thanks also to you, RAK, for the heartfelt comment.

ReplyDeleteWho else do you think they would get to fly Pelosi & staff around?

Juice,
ReplyDeleteSome men and women can't even figure out a microwave, so it's pretty obvious those women have "come a long way baby".
No offense meant, and bless your girl for what she does.

Who tells them how to take off?
ReplyDeleteJuice, I love you...
My wife and I both did 20 in the Navy. We have been married near 30 years. We took turns with the rugrats while the other deployed. So I'm a sexist pig. My point was that it's time to stop acting like women doing normal tasks is some big deal. Even if there is no direct male supervision. Its an insult to women.

Hey Juice, that wasnt directed at you. Just a random rant. Ken Hamblin used to talk about the soft bigotry of low expectations. Same thing.

ON the same subject, The Navy had previously announced plans for an all female fighter wing. They would only fly one week a month. The plans are on hold while it is determined if this would constitute cruel and unusual treatment in violation of the Geneva conventions of war. Not addressed was whether they would be given ammunition.
ReplyDeleteMy niece went to USAF pilots school, but dropped out. They told her Value Jet was no longer in need of pilots. She has been a career Officer, and we are darn proud of her.
To all ya'alls,
ReplyDeleteOur daughter has nine years in and is currently a SSgt. She would never have responded as myself. Her wit and tenacity ensure her successful fit in a man's military. I'm just Mommy talking here, to guys whose humor I understand. No biggie, no offense. Rodger's readers are good folks. :-]
Love back at ya,
Juice
