scream-of-consciousness;
"If you're trying to change minds and influence people it's probably not a good idea to say that virtually all elected Democrats are liars, but what the hell."
Thank you so much for this post. Art Linkletter was the real deal, wasn't he? A decent man. This clip took me back to when I was a kid and watched the show in blk/wht. Notice how all of the children could answer Bible questions? [to the "best" of their abilities.] Another America, for certain. That clip was great,Thanks. :D
Or how about the one where he asked the kid where his dad was, and the kid said, "In prison." We watched this and "Queen For a Day" every afternoon in my parents house....yes, in black and white 'til l972.

Smiles from the past. Here's one I remember, "What does your daddy do?" He's a stupidvisor."

A lot of people wouldn't get the Biblical jokes these days.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite: On one show, he asked a little boy, "What do your parents do to have fun?" The kid replied, "I don't know. They close the door."

ReplyDeleteAd rem....
I do recall watching this with my grandmother, who adored Art.
ReplyDelete"And so, what does your father do around the house, to help your mother?"
"Umm, umm, he makes cocktails."
