scream-of-consciousness;
"If you're trying to change minds and influence people it's probably not a good idea to say that virtually all elected Democrats are liars, but what the hell."
Inflation is not about rising prices but the dilution of the value of money by printing more of it. The increase in the overall amount of money means that each unit of currency has less value. Since the currency is worth less, prices usually rise to reflect that fact. The rise in prices is a lagging indicator of inflation which can be delayed because of other factors such as a weak economy.
Inflation is an unethical government's way of lowering the amount of its debt.
In Argentina, the old Ladies just handed their purse to the cashier at the check out to take what was needed.They just lost track. Took thousands extra every shopping day thanks to the Peronistas' money printing machines.

I'm with you, Rodger. I don't need any stinkin' survey to tell me that prices are going up and I don't have to be an economist to figure out who is to blame. GrinfilledCelt
The article talks about Tide, the detergent. The 100oz bottle is on "Rollback" (yeah right) at my Walmart for $13.99. It is $10.99 at CVS this week. Put a coupon or two on top of that and you get it for $8.99. Walmart doesn't do store coupons. I'm not one of those Walmart haters, but I do know that I save TONS more shopping the regular supermarkets and drugstores than Target and Walmart.
