He is the fourth Democrat to announce plans to step down at the end of
2012, joining a list that includes Jeff Bingaman of New Mexico, Kent
Conrad of North Dakota and Jim Webb of Virginia. The Democrats are also
losing Joseph Lieberman, a Connecticut independent who caucuses with
the Democrats. |

Whether it is more noble to step down while their is still a wad of cash on hand or to spend it all on risky chance of not being elected or being no longer the head of an important committee that generated lots of "benefits" do to becoming a minority member, yeah verily that is the question. For if I were bound in a nutshell I would count myself a king of infinite space as long as the money, booze, and willing sex partners rolled in.
