The raids forced Gibson to cease manufacturing
operations and send workers home ... [Obama government] has suggested that the use of wood
from India that is not finished by Indian workers is illegal, not
because of U.S. law, but because it is the Justice Department’s
interpretation of a law in India. (If the same wood from the same tree
was finished by Indian workers, the material would be legal.) This
action was taken without the support and consent of the government in
India.” [full]

I am of two minds on this. It is, of course, a huge over-reach by government thugs against a private business. On the other hand, many of Gibson’s customers are the same whiners who call for idiotic environmental laws. Maybe Gibson just forgot their Obama donation.
ReplyDeleteDoJ can't find a good enough reason to prosecute the New Black Panthersbut they can sure find a way to put more Americans out of work. November, 2012.
ReplyDeleteTennessee = Right to Work State. Aye, there's the rub.
ReplyDeleteBy Jove, I think you have it, Jim-PRS.

Skoonj, I think you've gone a shadenfreude too far, LOL.
ReplyDeleteBig Hollywood reports that the head of Gibson is a Republican donor while the head of Martin, which uses the same wood and has not been raided is a Democrat donor.
ReplyDeleteIf these bastards go after Paul Reed smith, I will declare vendetta against them.
I don't know, RKoF - there might be something to it:

And don't forget what The Komrade President REMF and his NLRB tried to do with Boeing and their move to South Carolina to build their 787s.
ReplyDeleteDoesn't the doj have more important things to do, like investigate arms smuggling to cartels by the ATF?
ReplyDeleteOh, silly me, nevermind.
Posted a marginally related item, HERE.
ReplyDelete(What? He'll like that I linked to this post, there.)
Some judge in India is butthurt that a lumber exporter sent unfinished lumber abroad, and expects US buyers to pay fines and such.
ReplyDeleteMore unconstitutional law ... making a manufacturer liable for overseas export legal decisions about materials imported legally.
So ... if Saudi Arabia passes a law to tax infidels 200% on petroleum exports, and make it retroactive to 100 years ago, does that mean we all have to send them money?
Apparently.
Eric Holder is a feckless, obtuse, inane ASSHAT. We should have saved the bullets that killed Jack and Bobby Kennedy for this Administration's idiots.
