Damn Ferris wheels! They'll do that ya know....Just blend right into the motif, an amusment park, so you can't see them. Amusment parks are damn near invisable.....These poor guys have all my sympathy. Oh well...better them than me. I would have probably crashed into the TiltaWhirl.Impossible to see them too.
I thought bad things about the pilot, until I read the whole story. Seems the carnival set up in a field, and the ferris wheel just happened to get set up off the end of the runway - apparently it was a grass strip, and they really didn't notice it. Still, you'd think the pilot would have seen something? MichigammeDave

Same difference though. Once you open the throttle and rotate, you are going to try to take off, regardless.
