Water For Elephants ...
Water For Elephants ½
“
We
just watched this, and loved it. Plot in short - Rosie the dyslexic
Elephant is acquired by a psycho circus owner. Except, The
elephant is just the smartest thing, but only understands Polish.
Fortunately Jacob Jankowski – the film's protagonist, speaks the
language. By today's standard, I rate this a family friendly
movie.
And all of the major props like the train, circus wagons and so forth were authentic circus memorabilia mostly from the 30's and early 40's. Much of it on loan from Circus Historical Society.
Ms Witherspoon did all of her own stunts and the other performers are actual circus people.
Looks good. I'll be seeing that on your recommendation, Rodge.
One I saw recently I think you'd like is "The Way". Brace yourself. It's directed by Emilio Estevez and stars Martin Sheen. But in spite of that, it's a very good and moving movie. GrinfilledCelt
By family friendly I hope you meant that Witherspoon only goes topless.
ReplyDeleteReese has her inside stuff dropping from gravity. Anyway, no nipples.
ReplyDeleteWhat, no vampires?
ReplyDeleteWhat did you like about it?

I think it's available as a free watch for those with Amazon Prime. I may watch it to test my new Kindle Fire for its video capability.

It had all the elements of a feel-good movie. A cute animal, a villain, a pretty girl, a likeable hero, action, and a good ending.
Good answer. thanks
