Brazilian offshore crude may number about 38 billion barrels. Obama
went to Brazil last month to put in a bid for the oil, offering loans
and other support to develop the oil in an "environmentally responsible
matter [sic (I think manner)]
," (Republicans criticized that initiative, pointing out Obama has
placed roadblocks in the way of domestic development of oil and gas
reserves).
Brazil has signed contracts with China for the product.

None of
this surprises. What does is that this is a Yahoo

Unfortunately, from the viewpoint of us dirty foreigners (I'm Canadian), the US has become too stupid and unstable to be trusted with much. We can't even blame it all on Obama because you lot elected that fool. We constantly ask ourselves: "What kind of idiots would elect uber-idiots like Obama and the Dems? What kind of super-uber-idiots would consider re-electing them"
ReplyDeleteI have business associates in the Canadian oil patch, you know, the oil patch you lot just screwed over, and we have lots of Chinese business associates, you know the ones who act reasonably, honor handshake deals and pay cash, and our oil patch guys are all seriously pissed off, but more importantly, worried.
When the USA sneezes, we get pneumonia, and when the USA feels a little weird, we get committed to an asylum. It ain't easy being a mouse in bed with an elephant, so we watch you and your politics and behaviour carefully. More carefully than you do.
Lately, the worlds greatest commercial republic has gone insane.
Hope y'all recover soon.
Wish everybody in the country could read that.
ReplyDeleteConsidering that the vast majority of monied Chinamen moved to Vancouver, British Columbia before the '87 handover of Hong Kong to the Chicoms, you Canucks are sitting pretty, or in a world of shit. One or the other.

All over, you see busses full of Chinks buying everything in sight...like iron mines, nickel mines, gold mines...etc...
ReplyDeleteAnd we watch the RINOs doing everything they can to get O'Bummer re-elected...and all these "Tea Partiers"
going RINO...see Ann...Sarah...etc...It's 1939 all over again.
On the other hand, you see Canada's "Liberals" on a self-destruct mode lately...Quebec separatists, Federal Liberals,
ReplyDeleteSocialist NDP all tearing each other's guts...one can't help but suspect that the Chinamen
are at work protecting their investments...see Sun Tzu's advice!
I think that the Brazilians would have preferred to sell their oil to U.S. companies, but they were concerned that Obama may not have cleared his offer with the Sierra Club before making it.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, what do you gain by calling Chinese "Chinks" and "Chinamen"?
I can see why "Chinks" might be offensive, but what's wrong with "Chinaman?"
ReplyDeleteLET THE BODIES HIT THE FLOOR ; ) >smibsid
ReplyDeleteWhat's wrong with Chinks? I grew up near the town of Pekin, Illinois (hometown of Senator Everett Dirksen). Till 1980 the Pekin High School nickname was the Chinks in honor of the fact that they were a sister city to Peking. Still have a t-shirt somewhere with Pekin Chinks on it that I "acquired" during a wrestling meet with them.
