Smells fishy to me

Papa Nancy il Fregna: Catholic Church Secretly Wants Govt Contraception

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi says the Catholic Church wants the federal government to enforce contraception because the church, by default, has failed to do so.

"Ninety-eight percent of women in childbearing age that are Catholic use contraception,” Pelosi, a Catholic (CINO), said in a speech at Texas A&M University in College Station.

“So, in practice, the church has not enforced this, and now they want the federal government and private insurance to enforce it. It just isn't consistent to me," a CNSNews.com report quotes the California Democrat as saying.

Americans should pray for successful implementation of President Barack Obama's mandate that insurance companies provide healthcare plans with contraception, including sterilization and abortion-inducing drugs, Pelosi said.

Well the Catholic Church has certainly been lax by not excommunicating Pelosi, et ilk.

  1. Look like they did not apply the legendary procedure for "Papesse Nancy"

"« Duos habet et bene pendentes »"

So no Deo Gratias for this one...

  3. I asked a devout catholic why had nancy not been excommunicated... (seeing as I'm not catholic and don't understand such things)
I was told that it was probably because she doesn't attend church and (even when/if she does) she doesn't receive sacrament. Excommunication is a denial of the sacrament, and therefore a denial of salvation.
If this is the case, she has already excommunicated herself and has no right to speak as a catholic.

    Correct me if I'm misinformed.

  4. K-nine, that's about what I've heard, too.

I do think the formal procedure would be a serious shot in the arm, though.

  6. I think she misunderstands the RCC's thinking.
They merely regretted that Nancy's parents had not used contraception.

  7. Excommunicating Pelosi? The Catholic Church should be thinking about buring the witch at the stake.
