>Obama’s Third-Party History Lie

"If you're trying to change minds and influence people it's probably not a
good idea to say that virtually all elected Democrats are liars, but what
 the hell." TRKOF&S

Obama’s Third-Party History
New documents shed new light on his ties to a leftist party in the 1990s.
By Stanley Kurtz

The New Party

The New Party
In late October 2008, when I wrote here at National Review Online that Obama had been a member of the New Party, his campaign sharply denied it, calling my claim a “crackpot smear.” Fight the Smears, an official Obama-campaign website, staunchly maintained that “Barack has been a member of only one political party, the Democratic Party.” I rebutted this, but the debate was never taken up by the mainstream press.
[...]

Recently obtained evidence from the updated records of Illinois ACORN at the Wisconsin Historical Society now definitively establishes that Obama was a member of the New Party. He also signed a “contract” promising to publicly support and associate himself with the New Party while in office.

[...]

Minutes of the meeting on January 11, 1996, of the New Party’s Chicago chapter read as follows:

Barack Obama, candidate for State Senate in the 13th Legislative District, gave a statement to the membership and answered questions. He signed the New Party “Candidate Contract” and requested an endorsement from the New Party. He also joined the New Party.

Consistent with this, a roster of the Chicago chapter of the New Party from early 1997 lists Obama as a member, with January 11, 1996, indicated as the date he joined. [Obama’s Third-Party History]

The thing is, the New Party was distinct from the Democratic Party.  In fact it was deeply hostile to the mainstream of the Democratic party and even to American capitalism.  Do we use another word for this philosophy boys and girls?  Yes, yes we do.

This also struck me.  As more "new" information about Obama's past is revealed, as will invariably happen, none of it will be without the phrase. "..  sharply denied it, calling my claim a 'crackpot smear'.”

  1. I see Debbie Wasserman Schultz is saying that Bill Clinton was wrong to say Romney had a sterling record at Bain Capital......She better get ready to put some ice in that.

  6. Next time you bring up a subject like "Well, we don't know anything about Obama's past and he sure SEEMS like a socialist" in front of a progressive...and they start rolling their eyes, shouting "oh NO, not that AGAIN, Obama has been SO vetted and is SO transparent"...remind them that, in fact, he IS a socialist and joined the party to prove it.

I will look forward to the contortions they will go through explaining why, once again, we "just don't get it" and it was "out of context".

  8. Shame how all of this is "news" now, when we all knew this back in 2007-2008. Nobody would listen then either.

The whole country has blinders on. Don't forget, the 2008 race wasn't about race at all ... which is why O got 98% of the black vote, who turned out in record numbers. And any criticism of Chicago Jesus was met with cries of racism. As my Democrat neighbor put it then, in response to my questioning his background and total lack of accomplishments, "Isn't it high time we had a black man as President?"

Even if ... and it's a big IF ... Romney wins, no one will accept any of this as truth for a dozen generations. The West still doesn't believe Islam is at war with it, even though they've been saying so since 1972. Why should things be any different with this joker?

Don't forget that "swiftboating" is now a pejorative term that means to sling mud on someone by making up lies about the past ... even though John Effin Kerry was the worst REMF lyin SOB the entire boat fleet had ever met. No one would listen. Nothing new there; a huge body of work came out a couple years ago - Ann Coulter was part of it - that showed that Joe McCarthy was RIGHT and that the US government was full of commies, that the common man in the street at the time was behind him 100%, and that the worst of the Red Scare stuff was done by the House panel, which McCarthy wasn't even part of. It doesn't matter; "McCarthyism" is forever the tactic of harassment by throwing up a bogeyman which doesn't actually exist.

    There is no truth.

    Obama is God.

    Resistance is futile.

  9. Nonononono. You're confused. That man, the one who joined the New Party -- He's the other one. You know - the one born in Kenya.

  10. Drew, have a little faith, baby. I am fairly certain that even if Joe Biden suddenly needs "emergency brain surgery" in October and, dad gum it, Hillary just HAS to step in, His Holiness will lose...and lose BIG. Embarassing big. Hope and Change big.

You are right about McCarthy, though. I know someone on the inside from WAY back, and the fact is that Hollywood (for example) who made a big stink about "black lists" and such was RIFE with commies and still is...only now they're in the open. McCarthy was RIGHT and the vilification that continues to this day makes me sick.

But again, the left had their high-water mark in 2008. The fall will now be swift and utterly devastating.
