"Augusta National Golf Club, has accepted its first female members. The club announced Monday that former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and businesswoman Darla Moore have accepted offers of membership — becoming the club’s first women members — after years of criticism for the club’s all-male membership."

At least Darla Moore wasn't called Ms. Rice's "companion."  Will other gender exclusive institutions fall next? Like Curves, a national fitness chain that only accepts women members? (DC)

    What is the difference between Augusta and Curves? Curves is segregated by sex!

    Its just like the USBCA (United States Bowling Congress) that a few years ago stopped having a Local and National Men's Tournaments and Women's Tournaments. Too many women demanded to bowl in the Men's Tournaments. So they changed them to Open Tournaments and Women's Tournaments. Anyone can bowl in the open tournaments, only women are allowed to bowl in the Women's tournaments.

    Or check out most youth sports organizations - girls are allowed to play on the boys teams if there is not girls team for them to play on, but just try and get a boy onto a girls team if there is no boys team for him to play on...

    Remember, Men and Women are equal only as long as women say we are.

    I like Condi Rice, but why the hell would she need a membership at Augusta for? She lives and works in California. Have all the Clubs gone belly up like the State out there?
