If
you do a Lexis-Nexus search on the word "disingenuous" for the period
1950-2000, I believe you'd see, beginning in 1992, a usage
spike resembling a missile
launch . Because, with the Clintons, the media scrambled to
find genteel words that could be swapped
out for "lie" and" liar."
Similarly, I find it interesting that
nobody here had ever heard of Godwin's Rule of Nazi
Analogies until Obama was
elected. While the left have always, and still do, call political
foes
"Nazis" and Hitlers," with Obama's presidency came a government that
began showing startling similarities to methods employed by The Third
Reich, in particular the Brown Shirt thugocracy. This is just one more.

Thought Police Patrol Convention’s Radio Row
Conservative talk-show hosts who came to Charlotte to
interview political figures are furious. For the first time in anyone’s
memory, Radio Row — the designated set of booths available to visiting
talk-show hosts — has seen restrictions placed on its use by Team
Obama. DNC staffers at
Radio Row will book leading Democrats for slots on conservative
stations but then cancel the appearances an hour or so before broadcast
“because you’re not our audience.”
Roger Hedgecock, a former mayor of San Diego now
hosting a nationally syndicated talk show, decided to pack up and leave
Charlotte early because “we were blocked from getting any guests that
mattered. It was a complete freeze.” Larry O’Connor of Breitbart Radio
told me, “It was the most bizarre act of censorship. These shows paid
large fees and spent thousands on equipment setup and they couldn’t do
their programs because of interference.”
“According to sources at Talk Radio News Service, placing a stringer
outside the designated TV area to ask high-level Democrats to stop by
radio row has also been banned by the DNC,” Ben Shapiro wrote at
Breitbart’s Big Journalism:

The
Obamas are a bad and dangerouslot, by any definition.

Not only bad, but cowards and hypocrites. The cockroaches know they can't stand the light Breitbart et al would shine on them.

I'd think they'd be very goosey about pissing off and giving someone like Hedgecock, Boortz, et al, a full segment to rant with no rebuttal by the DNC.
ReplyDeleteIn the CONTINUED NRO piece:
ReplyDelete"When I approached liberal activist John Podesta about appearing on KRLA’s “Heidi Harris Show” along with me and my co-hosts Heidi Harris (conservative) and Brian Whitman (liberal), his handler quickly intervened. Later, the handler stopped by to clarify: did the show have two liberals and one conservative, or two conservatives and one liberal? When I stated that it had two conservatives and one liberal, he quickly shook his head and sprinted away."
Heidi Harris was, until recently, a morning talker in Las Vegas. Now she's in LA with two contributors, Ben Shapiro (conservative) and Brian Whitman (liberal).
When she was here in Las Vegas, I heard her often in the morning. She is a very good radio talker, and would have been very fair to any DNC interviewee. Damned shame the DNC is pulling this act, they would at least have been given a fair shot for making their case.
What I wish she had done after this censorship is to pack up the booth and leave. There was no longer a reason to be there.
On the other hand by not feeding their people onto the conservative talk radio sources they created open air for the conservative talkers to talk trash with no rebuttal what so ever and displays the fear that they have that they are short people who can debate. The failure to study "Dead White Men" comes back to haunt them.
ReplyDeleteJust more proof to me that they don't know what the heck they are doing when it comes to alternative media.
Do another empty chair bit.

Skoonj - Problem is they know they cannot defend the indefensible, even with a fair host like you describe. They cannot refute the hard facts of the 3-1/2 years of Uhbaministration; e.g., the U6 unemployment rate of 14-15%, the net decrease in the number of employed Americans, the on the books $5.5 trillion increase of the national debt, the loss of 1/3 of value in American homes, a net decrease in personal income, an undiscussed inflation of 10% in food, 50% in fuel, all tracked and published by Uhbama's own GAO and CBO. Uhbama's rate of debt increase is more than double Bush's, which was too high according to the Uhbaminites. How then can they justify double that?
ReplyDeleteThey can't. It's indefensible. They're not about to appear on any venue where there may be actual facts and they can't just call names or spew platitudes and talking points.
