While Bibi Netanyahu talks to an empty chair, the Sun Times today
reports
that Mayor Rahm Emanuel met Thursday with Israeli Defense Minister Ehud
Barak. The two are old pals, and the speculation is that Barak (the Good) is trying to back-door
Barack (the Evil) through
Rahm. Blah-Blah- Blah. This is what caught my
attention however.

Emanuel
earlier this month resigned as a co-chair of the Obama campaign
in order to raise money for the SuperPAC supporting Obama. As a
presidential confidant, Emanuel doesn’t need a title to send — or
receive — a message. With polls trending Obama’s way,
Netanyahu may
simply want to hedge his bet. |

And what polls are trending Obama's way? The "Double Secret
Gallup Edition?" Let's stipulate for a moment, even though
it's
preposterous, that media do not purposely weight polls to help
Democrats. Dick
Morris here makes the same point I did awhile back. Everyone
of these polls use "some variant of the 2008 election turnout
as its model for weighting respondents and this overstates the
Democratic vote by a huge margin." That's a
painfully obvious point, and one no honest broker would ignore.
