OBAMA AHEAD By NO VOTES!

Can Obama get reelected losing the independent vote?

The answer is “yes,” if you believe a number of the polls currently in the Real Clear Politics poll average… but that’s a sizable if. The NYT/CBS poll shows Pres. Obama winning by 3 points among likely voters… but losing independents to Mitt Romney 44/50. The WaPo/ABC News poll shows Obama up by a point, while losing independents by 11 points, 43/54. The CNN/ORC poll (.pdf) shows Obama winning by six overall, but losing independents by a whopping 14 points, 40/54. Ironically, given people’s perceptions of poll bias, the Fox poll has Obama winning overall and winning indies by a similar 5 point margin.

Historically, a candidate cannot win the presidency while losing independent votes. However, it has happened thrice in my lifetime: 1976, 2000 and 2004. These exceptions are instructive. [Even More Stuff]

Add to that the aforementioned Obama Polling Worse Among Jews Than Any Dem in 32 Years , and the media sham is even more pronounced.  Obama is toast, thank God. They know it.  But.

In 1980 the networks called Reagan's landslide win over Carter at 6:30 PM EST.  Democrats were outraged, because Left Coast voters on the way to the polls simply went home.  As a result Reagan gained control of the Senate, and  made heavy inroads into  the Democrat's House dominance.  In response Donks forced a rule prohibiting  presidential election calls until  all polls had closed.

This is what I'm getting at.  If government can flex its muscle to "protect the integrity of an election (ahem)" that way, why in heaven's name don't they ban all political polling 60 days before any election?   I know, it's rhetorical. Democrats depend on phony polls; but it does make sense, wot?

As something of an aside:  It was also after Reagan's win that the Donk media changed  party designation colors .  It drove me nuts at the time (still does actually) that not one word was heard about this obvious "psyche-ops" victory by the Donk media.  I was reminded by some of the comments  found under the YouTube video I embedded above.

  • In most countries red is the color of left wing parties and blue is the color of right wingers. EG in Britain Labour is red and the Conservatives are blue

  • 'Red' means communism, and the Leftist media didn't want people making that connection in later years. This is just my guess.

  • Don't speak fact to the left, they don't like that.

And so it should be.

  1. Except for polling groups that are so secure that reality has no place in their considerations, pollstres tend to narrow their distortions the closer they get to the election. They do not want people to point out during the next election that their last results overstated their favorites margin by 20%. They make a real effort to show their bias by no more than just a couple of points.

In the meantime, I will stick with Rasmussen for trends while realizing that the margin of error for state polls is much greater than that for national ones and that any poll within the MOE is a tie.

  2. This is a point I have long been Angry about. Democrats are the party of RED. Republicans are the party of BLUE. You are exactly right. The media INTENTIONALLY colors Republicans Red because it becomes too obvious to the dull witted what the Democrats are when you give them their rightful color.

I am still p*ssed off about Erick at "Red State" accepting and embracing this media attempt to propagandize the public. We should insist on being colored blue, and we should insist that it remain that way.

Red is the Color of Socialist/Communists.

  3. The Independent Vote is more accurately described as the unprincipled vote. It is populated by the dumbest Americans and therefore largely controlled by the candidate with the most effective advertising.

Much more important to ask: Can Barry0 win with ONLY the Looter Vote? The answer to this question tells us exactly how the future of our country will unfold.

  6. Darin, you're close, but Bush being the challenger, he should have been BLUE, no? Algore was in the incumbent administration, so should have been RED using your scheme. Why does 2000 become involved if the colors are as you state?
Reagan in 1984 was the incumbent, so RED is appropriate.
Could you have gotten it backwards?
