"The prestige of government has undoubtedly
been lowered considerably by the prohibition law. For nothing is more
destructive of respect for the government and the law of the land than
passing laws which cannot be enforced. It is an open secret that the
dangerous increase of crime in this country is closely connected with
this.”

Assault-rifle owners statewide are organizing a
mass boycott of Gov.
Cuomo’s new law mandating they register their weapons, daring officials
to “come and take it away,” The Post has learned.
Gun-range owners and
gun-rights
advocates are
encouraging hundreds of thousands of owners to defy the law, saying
it’d be the largest act of civil disobedience in state history.
“I’ve heard from hundreds of people that they’re
prepared to defy
the law, and that number will be magnified by the thousands, by the
tens of thousands, when the registration deadline comes,’’ said Brian
Olesen, president of the American Shooters Supply, one of the largest
gun dealers in the state.
"Political
officials might want to consider those experiences, as well as a recent
poll finding two-thirds of Americans willing to defy tighter gun
restrictions, before setting themselves up for public demonstrations of
their impotence in the face of mass defiance"
Prancing
twats like Cuomo think they can do anything they want, now that
Obama's overwhelming popularity (ahem) has been revalidated at
the polls. While I'm convinced that the Obamas would like nothing
more than to entice us into missteps that justify imposing martial law,
they have to choose something that doesn't ignite the rebellion people
are beginning to see as inevitable. I look for them to
backpedal; they have to—as long as we are UNIFIED in resistance.

I'd like to see boxes of registration forms and data-entry terminals dumped into Boston Harbor by guys dressed as Indians.
ReplyDeleteOr scattered from the roofs of buildings.

ReplyDeleteNot so fast... I believe that his popularity has started to fall already. Taxes on everyone paying FICA went up. Health insurance premiums have gone up by double-digits {and are poised for even more} as the costs of having Sammy and Suzy stay on the policy 'til 26 kick in, along with the coming 'must issue' where those paying now will pay for those who haven't kicked in a penny. Additionally, docs are closing shop and moving to the beach. They are also refusing to take Medicare patients {well Medicare payments are not being accepted, and the pt must forward the doc's bill to medicare for reimbursement, way less than billed..}
This joker is poised to get walloped in the public eye. He just doesn't know it. Wagu beef dinners and trips to Hawaii on the taxpayers dime do nothing to add to his and his master's{wook} appeal.
Only the sheeple who are dyed in the wool left-of-left find him{them} attractive. And their numbers are shrinking slowly.
How can four years of 7.8%++ unemployment be attractive? The 'new norm' may be acceptable to some, but when those 'other peoples dollars' run out, there will be a bill to pay, and it won't be pretty. tomw

ReplyDeleteDear Anonymous, what did you think the (ahem) meant?
Atlas Shrugged:
ReplyDelete“Did you really think that we want those laws to be observed?” said Dr. Ferris. “We want them broken. You’d better get it straight that it’s not a bunch of boy scouts you’re up against – then you’ll know that this is not the age for beautiful gestures. We’re after power and we mean it. You fellows were pikers, but we know the real trick, and you’d better get wise to it. There’s no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren’t enough criminals, one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens? What’s there in that for anyone? But just pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed nor enforced nor objectively interpreted – and you create a nation of law-breakers – and then you cash in on guilt. Now, that’s the system, Mr. Rearden, that’s the game, and once you understand it, you’ll be much easier to deal with.”

"He" is as popular as "they" say he is...since the USA is the only country in the world where voters dont need to be identified, it is surprising any repug has been "elected"...but looking at the likes of Boner and his shrubbie RINOz, it does not matter much, does it?
ReplyDeleteBoy, had to recycle 20 times to get a readable captcha
I think we're done.
ReplyDeleteUnless I've totally mis-read it, Obama has lost Gary Trudeau.
Srsly.
Go, see!

ReplyDeleteThanks for the fresh air Esteve
ReplyDeleteMy pleasure.
ReplyDeleteA question I'd like to see Governor Coomo (or any gummint gun grabber) asked is this:
ReplyDeleteYou claim that your gun ban will help prevent more mass shootings. But when another mass shooting as bad as or worse than Newtown occurs, what will your response be? Will you propose a different approach to deterrence, or will you simply call for stricter gun bans?
Snackeater, obviously they will just pass stricter gun bans.
ReplyDeleteMaybe next time they will remember to exempt police officers.
More and more county sheriffs are getting on board with defying Obama's over-the-top stupid gun-grabbing law. So far, there have been at least four hi Oregon and I read the other day that two in Montana are also on board. There are something like 3000-plus counties in the U.S. It will take time for most of them to defy Obama and Crazy Joe on this. Of course, we all know that the sycophantic people in the New England states will follow along with the grabbers.
