Get well soon, Rodg. For what it's worth, there's a coupla tough guys at work who don't normally complain about much. This week I've been getting almost hourly reports on how lousy they feel.
Gin and OJ are a wonderful thing, even when not sick.
I understand the medicinal properties of your concoction too, (and burbon in place of the brandy), but I don't think the vitamin C concentration is near as high.
I guess you'd just have to consume more to make up the difference??
A family Rx: Go to bed with a bottle of Peruvian Pisco, a shot glass and a fedora (baseball cap will do). It helps if the bed has corner pillars. Place the hat on top of one of the pillars on the feet end of the bed. Or some place you could comfortably see from the bed. Lay on your back. Start drinking by the glass, until you see two hats. There. Your welcome.
I had that nasty ass thing in December and it took almost a month to get through it. The doc said it was flu (had the shot too - don't tell me) and I was out of work from Christmas to New Year. Now, the oj and gin sounds intriguing. I remember my dad liking gin and I do have a fondness for gin and tonic....hmmmmm
Rodger, I don´t know whether to laugh or, well, laugh. Get better. That´s a good thing.
ReplyDeleteHad it last month. No fun. Cost me a lot of bicycle miles. Soldier on.
ReplyDeleteGin and orange juice.
ReplyDeleteRepeat as necessary.
(What?! Vitamin C, hydration, and reduced give-a-f**k about how you feel.)
Be well.

ReplyDeleteGin and oj sounds useful and good. I often go with hot water, brandy, honey and lemon. :)

And, Boss, no matter how much you beg, we won't shoot you.
