Like Madame Curry who was trying to make
French toast and invented curry, I did Bagel Bread!
Kind of.
Last week I started making bagels using the King
Arthur recipe I've had good look with. I just throw
everything into my bread
machine and select "Dough"
cycle. About an hour or so later the
dough was ready (filling the entire bread pan with fluffy dough)
However, I no
longer felt like going throgh the water bath/oven bake drill. I
selecced the "Bake" button on
the machine and walked away. What happened
was this, a Bagel Bread loaf. Holy Mack'el Andy! It is the best
bread (when toasted) I've made, and I be
'making me some good bread lately. .

I'm still trying to find a decent bialy in Las Vegas. I'll keep you posted.
ReplyDeleteI like it. Both my husband and I like rye bread (always have) but, of late, I've found myself craving for dill rye. Have a recipe for that one? Yes, I've checked the web. Thanks in advance whatever the answer.
ReplyDeleteAlso, if I'm able to piss off more folks than that of Buddy Hackett, may I just add my newest addiction is chocolate vodka.
ReplyDeleteChopin is best when not penny pinching, but Pinnacle is my current fave. Perhaps Parkway Rest Stop Jim has an opinion (not Three Olives) - ahem.
yes,i got this is not a rye loaf. just asking
ReplyDeleteJuice- ain't never heard of chocolate vodka? Do you melt Hershey bars into a glass and add potato juice? Pictures!!
ReplyDeleteJuice and chocolate vodka
ReplyDeleteOh, the memories...of course we still have those mugs. ;)
ReplyDeleteWhen last in New Orleans I recieved a gift of King Cake flavored Vodka. Delicious, and it is GREAT in a Mudslide.
