Eileen Hart
said she did not allow the Assessment and Appraisal Systems to
inspect her home because her husband was not present at the time. She
also cited religious reasons. Because it was denied access, the company
revalued her property at a higher rate. Hart attended the meeting last
weekend to complain about the revaluation and the arbitrary move by the
county to assess the value of her property.
After she began reciting the Constitution to
support her argument, an Appraisal Systems employee escorted her from
the public building.
“I didn’t scream, I didn’t yell. I have the
right to air my grievances against the government in a public setting.
I’ve never threatened anyone a day in my life.”
A
spokeswoman for Gloucester County said the assessor “has never
experienced this type of extreme behavior from a taxpayer” and the
police were notified, apparently because reading the Constitution is
considered extremist and a threat.
After
police arrested her, they demanded she hand over her two guns, a
.357-caliber Smith & Wesson revolver and a .40-caliber Glock for
“safekeeping.” If she had refused, a judge would have set bail too high
for her family to pay.
“I have permits for each of them. I applied
legally, I got them legally,” she said. “Now I can’t defend myself. I
never said the word ‘gun’ at the meeting. None of those people would
have even known I was a gun owner.” [Full

I
see this as a pretty graphic example of the peril we all face—if
things progress the way they seem to be. We, all of
us, are wont to
yell with some bravado about our many weapons (figure of speech since I
don't have any) and ammo caches. But when the door slams shut (i.e.
crashes open) it will be like this. Uniforms will ask if you own
guns. If you say yes, they'll demand you turn them over. If
you say
no and they think you do, they'll' tear your
house apart. You can't hide weapons in the house.
Remember,
government will know every purchase you've made for the past few years,
and that includes gun supplies. You'd better have a 9mm to go with
all that 9mm ammo.
I don't have a solution; it's something everyone needs to sort for
themselves. But being aligned with like-minded people, like a gun
club, militia, or living in a strongly patriotic neighborhood
is
critical. And you have to make decisions before hand. Will
you use
that Colt ACP in your hand? I doubt it.
This problem will not be going away. The media are nearly 100%
behind
this nascent totalitarian regime (as I see them), so public opinion, at
best, will largely be against you if you resist. Not until they
thrmselves are led to the open pit will they do a Martin Niemöller,
and that's too late for everyone.
CHOICES as I see them- in order of preference
- Political
solution: national resentment becomes uncontrollable forcing
the removal of the administration en masse.
- Secession: One,
or several states pull that cork and we use our feet to escape.
- Open Rebellion (Civil War)
- Acquiescence

I'd maybe add 2.5) An insurrection righteous and bloody enough to prevent Civil War.
ReplyDeleteIn 1774 the Concord Militia bury a cannon stolen from the British on Col. Barrett's farm and planted corn over it. Just saying.

“bring all home values up to the current market value,”
ReplyDeleteI don't know about New Jersey, but around my part of Virginia, housing values are down 30-35% from their highs ~2007, and those highs were not driven by a speculation bubble like some places
That assessment statement is a naked money grab to compensate for a crashing economy and a tax base fleeing to friendlier places. They should have said "to lower assessments to the current housing values."
And there's also a big warning here: gun permits and registrations will lead to confiscation. Fight any kind of computer based registration data base tooth and nail, both locally and nationally. There are no "reasonable" gun control laws.
If the founders wrote "will not be infringed", there could be an interpretation of a suggestion or a possiblity or a negotiable point. The word "shall" was chosen for good reason: "shall" is an imperative, an absolute now and forever, making the whole phrase
"shall not be infringed" an imperative.

Well then let's get it on because one thing is for sure, they are ready for us and I hate to keep people waiting.
ReplyDeleteIn my county, the assessor's office has delayed the scheduled property reassessment for eight years. Why? Because property values are down by as much as 50%, there is no appetite for tax increases, and lowered values would = a reduction of their (government) "income."
ReplyDeleteSo tough toenails for us, the taxpayer. We can do with less, but the government cannot.
Another example of "heads I win, tales you lose." The bastards.
Bring it Sis.
ReplyDeleteOur little neighborhood are waiting.
(And and a lot of LEOs in the tribe.)

ReplyDeleteRepeated accurate 7.62x51mm fire hitting the statist jackbooted thugs who kicked in my door until I run out of loaded magazines, am incapacitated, or the statist thugs realize they made a monumental error in judgment and withdraw to leave me and mine in peace!
