Detroit City, or America
in miniature?
I
could be witty
About Detroit City
But why to bother
With more palaver?
I'll go instead with nitty-gritty
↓
Then city officials gave their employees — who have 47 unions,
including one for crossing guards — pay scales comparable to those of
autoworkers. Thus did private-sector decadence drive public-sector
dysfunction — government negotiating with government-employees' unions
that are government organized as an interest group to lobby itself to
do what it wants to do: Grow.
[Will - Detroit's
'One Party' State Killed It]
Below a few snippets from another
assessment of the problem. ( Don't
cry for me...Detroit)* by journalist, auther and Detroiter
Frosty Wooldridge
*It appears that all record of this
article, which apparently appeared in the Michigan Chronicle, has
been expunged.

As the crimes became more violent, the whites fled. Finally, unlawful
Mexicans moved in at a torrid pace. Detroit suffers so much shoplifting
that grocery stores no longer operate in
many inner city locations. You could cut the racial tension in the air
with a knife! Detroit may be one of our best examples of
multiculturalism: pure dislike, and total separation from America.
Today, you hear Muslim calls to worship over the city like a new
American Baghdad with hundreds of Islamic mosques in Michigan, paid for
by Saudi Arabian oil money. High school flunk-out rates reached 76
percent last June, according to NBC's Brian Williams. Classrooms
resemble more foreign countries than America... English? Few speak it!
The city features a 50 percent illiteracy rate and growing.
While
we're in the Motor City, more of this.

I think that's a done deal, Obamacare aside, Mr. Union man.
ReplyDeleteThe only 'positive' I see in bummercare is that the unions and lawyers are gonna find out the meaning of useful idiot.

10!
ReplyDeleteFrosty Wooldridge's article is here. I traced it through Snopes which labeled the article "correctly Attributed."
ReplyDeleteLiberals didn't do that to Detroit, they only helped a little bit by looking the other way and making excuses.
ReplyDeleteMuch obliged gadfly, I changed the link.
