Can someone please explain the incredible logic (President Clinton)of disarming soldiers on military bases? And when you explain that, please explain to the Israelis why they should do the same...
I loath to defend ANYTHING about Clinton but the weapon ban was in place when I got to Jax in 1975. You always had to check your firearms into the base armory. Just one of the reasons we all moved off base as soon as we could. Tim

I'll be surprised if the shooter didn't fuck up and hit a Black guy by mistake.
Listening to the news yesterday, my mind kept going to the scene in NCIS, when Mossad liaison officer, Ziva David went on her first case to her first Navy base and she was aghast to discover that none of the sailors were carrying weapons. (!)
Israel is something of a special case. Until recently our military hasn't been surrounded by enemies intent on and capable of killing them on US soil. Hell, I think one poor Marine was even holding an umbrella for the ringleader.
