ICE
Wife texted husband during this morning's Arctic vortex:
Friend of my wife called me one day to say her car wouldn't run any more. She was a divorced Navy wife without much education.
Asked her what was going on so I'd know what kind of tools to drag over to her place to see what I could do.
Said the car (which was getting pretty old) was making engine noises which she didn't like, so one of her buddies told her to put some heavier grade oil in it.
So she got a can of top oil (think it was somethin like the old Bardahl stuff, 40 or 50 weight) and put it in . . . . THE FRIGGIN GAS TANK! Not sure what it was 'cause she'd tossed the can.
Did quite a number on the fuel filter. I hadda take the fuel tank off, drain it, blow out the pump, and replace the filter.
STILL had a helluva time gettin it started. Once it did, tho, it ran O.K. after throwin a cloud of blue smoke. Oh, also pulled the plugs and cleaned and burnished 'em, just in case.
