Tonight,
the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) headquarters is
hosting a fundraiser for North Carolina moderate and Senatorial
candidate Thom Tillis. Headlining the fundraiser invite was a "who's
who" of beltway establishmentarians, including Senator Mitch McConnell,
Senator Lamar Alexander, and Senator Richard Burr. Attendees must pay a
minimum of $1,000 per PAC or $500 per person to rub elbows with the
D.C. elite.
According to the
Washington
Post,
NRSC Chairman Jerry Moran (R-Kan.) explained today that playing in
races like this one are a priority because the "map and opportunities
have expanded dramatically in a year, in part because of the
consequences of the Affordable Care Act."
This is an ironic statement, given that Thom Tillis effectively
endorsed ObamaCare as a "great idea that can't be paid for."
"A lot can be learned about a man by looking at the company he keeps,"
commented Matt Kibbe, President of FreedomWorks for America. "While
fiscal conservative Greg Brannon is meeting with grassroots activists
from across the state of North Carolina, Thom Tillis will be in
Washington D.C., rubbing elbows with the establishment Republicans who
failed to take a stand in the battle to defeat ObamaCare."
"North Carolinians have to decide, do you want a Senator like Greg
Brannon who will fight alongside conservatives like Mike Lee, Ted Cruz,
and Rand Paul on the Senate floor to defeat ObamaCare? Or do you want a
Senator who schmoozes alongside progressive Republicans like Mitch
McConnell and Lamar Alexander at swanky cocktail parties?"
More to the point (using the WWII analogy): Who should be supported: the Frenchmen who fought in the Resistance, or the ones who volunteered for the Legion Française in the Waffen-SS?

ReplyDeleteFrom here on out, I will vote for the most direct path to world wide collapse. I see no reason to not quickly rip the bandage off so the healing can begin. You cannot have a phoenix without ash. If nothing else it might allow me the opportunity to give a nuclear sized "NEENER NEENER" to the Vichy Americano's I am surrounded by. -Anymouse
ReplyDeleteI've been in favor of that plan for a decade or two. Let's stop fighting against turning up the heat a degree at a time, let's crank it up NOW. Full throttle, rip the bandage off (as you nicely said), balls-to-the-wall. Put the commies in charge, give 'em free rein and a blank check while the country is still capable of being shocked, before they get too numb.
ReplyDeleteIt might have worked 20 years ago. It's too now late. I was sure the 08 result would have that as it's silver lining- that after 4 years of the worst people realistically imaginable making unconstitutional laws, giving taxpayer money to friends by the trainload, and bankrupting the country it would snap the people out of it. They would see the light and realize Socialism was not the right direction and we'd be safe for another generation. I was wrong.
2012 proved this is what the majority want. So be it. If we couldn't win easily under those conditions, it's over and we lost. The only hope left is succession.
