The French have, evidently, beat the world in the race for a  Vectored  Emergency Train Levitation Unit (Vectored Unité train à lévitation d'urgence).  Credit where credit is due.

  3. It's their hose shutoff valve, in the double valve for safety arrangement.
    French train engineers and firemen are in the same union, so they work together.
