  1. I made the comment on another site that we were now negotiating with terrorists, and got the answer that the Afghan Taliban was not on the terrorist list. WTF is going on in this country?

  2. I forgot to add that the Haqqani Network (Bergdahl's captors)is on the list, so we are now indeed negotiating with terrorists.

  3. I hope they court martial the guy. Left his post voluntarily, and several Americans were killed trying to locate him.

This also shows us the lunacy of having Club Gitmo. When we catch a terrorist, interrogate him and then kill him on the spot. We have no reason to feed, clothe, and shelter the bastards for years.

  4. And check out his wikipedia entry (I know, it's Wikipedia), especially the last email to his parents. Before it's scrubbed.

His father seems to think that the death of a 1LT he was close to "darkened his son's mood." Since when does a 1LT "grow close" to a PFC (Bergdahl's rank when he was captured)? Maybe the fact that Bergdahl attended the Sun Valley Ballet School sheds some light. And the Army doesn't know exactly when or where he was captured?

This whole thing has stunk from day one.

  5. Quite the deal, swap a deserter to the Tally-ban for Tally-Ban leaders.
Way to go, Bath House Barry!

  6. So the Ayatollah Obama (may his grave be forever shit upon by pigs) and his regime has broke a law. So what the hell else is new? They are above the law and The Constitution, dontcha know.

Don't believe it. Just ask them.

  7. Okay, I'm concerned about three things: 1) how long before O'Bummer gives this jerk a medal, something of a Bronze or Silver kind, 2) how long before these 5 swapee's "escape" form their new prison home in Qatar, and 3) how long before we either re-capture them or find their mangled, smoldering remains on some battlefield?
My bet is: before October 15th to all, just in time for the mid-terms.

  8. Bergdahl is at best a deserter in a combat zone, maybe a traitor.
Good men were killed and wounded looking for him and our ops in the area were disrupted to look for him.
    It's general court martial time.
Do we still have firing squads?

And BTW, did you see his pathetic parents - right off the pages of 1968 Berkeley, speaking Arabic praises to Allah at the White House??
And a 5:1 trade? A nobody for five top jihadis? Uhbama's out of his fucking mind - or a traitor. Pick one. This shit has gone too far.

  9. On Sunday, enroute from Afghanistan to Singapore SECDEF Hagel, commenting on Bergdahl told reporters, “Again I remind you, this was a prisoner of war exchange. He was a prisoner.”

A prisoner of war exchange? So the Gitmo scum are prisoners of war? I thought the argument from the left has been that they were simply detainees, to be tried in civilian courts. Which is it?

  10. And Snackeater, what nations exchanged prisoners of war? I thought prisoners of war were prisoners of conflict between nations.

Also, now we have something else to think about. Anyone think that the Afghan CIA station chief's identity was outed because he opposed the swap?

  11. Precisely. They lie so much they can't remember what the truth is anymore.

And another possibility on the station chief--the person who would've been tasked with tracking the Gitmo 5 once they're back in Afghanistan--now it's going to be someone with a lot less experience in the region.
