Squishing Food Ad Hoc

                                                           FOOD TIP

The rollover pretty much explains it.  Yes, I have a panini machine, but I often want to press something ad hoc, without the fuss.  This gallon can of Hunt's Sauce serves me well.  You're welcome.

  1. Don't forget and leave it unattended or cleaning lady will turn in her resignation.

  2. With an old kink like that on the side, the can have been breached and the content is likely poisonous anyway...

  3. Used bricks wrapped in foil (a'la Alton Brown) to make wonderful Cuban Sandwiches. But a large can would do just as well.

  4. Bestest way I've found to press stuff, such as slab-sliced bacon, for fryin in a pan is to get TWO pans exactly the same size, preferably cast-iron skillets, lay the bacon (or whatever) in one, then put the other one on top of it.

I think you offered this hint back a coupla years ago. I picked it up from somebody's blog . . . coulda been KisP, I guess.
