Who's the goofy bastard here?

Paul, You Berk

We've got to go out and we've got to broaden our party, and when we do, we'll be a national party again. We will win again.
- Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.)
Does Rand Paul, above, remind you of Prof. Irwin Corey?  Except Corey makes more sense.  Consider:

Marriage is like a bank account. You put it in, you take it out, you lose interest.
Irwin Corey

If we don't change direction soon, we'll end up where we're going.
Irwin Corey

When your IQ rises to 28, sell.

  1. A party should focus on principles. Republicans would do well to ensure freedom, liberty, and states rights. Inclusion will follow. If you get into the trap of out giving the democrats and group politics you will always lose cuz they will always out spend you.

  2. The template is there. Just look at Ronald Reagan.

  3. I think what's going on here is Rand is catering to the GOP hierarchy who are hell bent to keep any but their hand chosen puppet off the national ticket. Right now, the GOP are doing all they can to give us Romney II, and the smart money says they will succeed. Ron Reagan faced the same treatment, but that extraordinary man was able to outsmart the GOP (although they did saddle him with G. Bush).

  4. I agree, stick to principles that apply to America instead of catering to every diversity and deviancy .

Focus on those ideas that bring us together, the ideas that we have in common, leaving the rest for another day after the big things are fixed.

Like a soup or a comprehensive anything bill, the more stuff you throw into it, the worse will be the result.

  5. Why does Richard Cory come to mind speaking of Republican "leadership"?

    Richard Cory
They say that Richard Cory owns one half of this whole town
With political connections to spread his wealth around
Born into society, a banker's only child
He had everything a man could want: power, grace, and style

But I work in his factory
And I curse the life I'm living
    And I curse my poverty
And I wish that I could be
Oh I wish that I could be
Oh I wish that I could be
    Richard Cory

He freely gave to charity, he had the common touch
And they were grateful for his patronage and they thanked him very much
So my mind was filled with wonder when the evening headlines read:
"Richard Cory went home last night and put a bullet through his head"
