sense is that if Scotland leaves G.B., it would have some effect
on
American attitudes about secession. Can't say to what degree, but
the
very act would plant a winds of change sort of inevitability regarding the preferred
(by many) secession of traditional American states from what is now a
cesspool of lawlessness ruled by Liberal plantation owners; their
crapload of illegals; and renegade judges. However, since I
value tradition, where it doesn't impact me, I do hope that Scotland votes to stay home on
Thursday. |

I read that the effect of Scotland leaving Britain would be like Cali leaving the US. Leave a more conservative Britain. I have no idea.
ReplyDeleteI've been to Scotland, and found the attitude of many there to be in line with my own, to wit, not in favor of an obscenely strong central gubmint. Certainly I wasn't talking to anybody in the dole line, however, so could be mistaken about that.
ReplyDeleteWhat worries me about Scottish succession is, it doesn't seem very well thought out. Failure to plan, is traditionally planning to fail. But on the other hand, winds of change have been blowing for a while now, what with various populist revolts in Eastern Europe telling Moscow to pi$$ off twenty-years or so ago, and the Kurds having de facto secceded from Iraq. Seems to me, we're lagging behind on the trend line on all of this......

ReplyDeleteHmmm, what exactly is the operative tradition here? American's should be sympathetic to other secessionists, given our own history. My primary concern is the impact on hiking West Highland Way in the near future.
tradition is the order of things one is accustom to.

Actually, the only thing bad about it is that the first, the VERY first thing they would do (and remember who their "Governor" is) would be to run whining to Washington DC, where common sense goes to die, for foreign aid. And lots and lots of it.

Don't ya' just love the way the 'progressive' establishment goes ape-shit over talk of Scotland (or Texas) seceding in a peaceful way but go into an absolute swoon over their muslim "freedom fighters".
