No, no I can't.
ReplyDeleteMe neither. Statist ideologues do anything for power. It's their raison d'etre.

Can you suggest any other reason?
ReplyDeleteAmericans are more trustworthy. ((If you don't consider Democrats to be Americans.))
Soft bellied Americans...to surrender to a bunch of flea bitten drugged up hippies like
ReplyDeletethe Barry Hussein's bunch...watch the Boner's bunch bend to Barry like Barry and Slicky
and both Shrubs kowtowed to the Saudis...See how the repug billionaire club short-circuited the Tea Party...Will you ever rise again?
To do so would require a national ID card system which most libertarian/conservatives are loathe to allow.
ReplyDeleteAnd for states to issue one would not guarantee the person in possession of it is not already registered to vote in multiple locations or have multiple cards in the state given so little verification is done at the national level.
Good enough reason?
I know this will be difficult for the younger generations to believe, but there was a time when Americans were considered to be sharp, shrewd and hard to fool or get suckered in by liars, cheats and snake oil peddlers.

Strict state voter ID laws, combined with voting restricted to a single day and no absentee ballots or early voting ought to do the trick.
ReplyDeleteOld ways, proven ways are the best.
Anon 4:53 - To avoid the national ID issue, I'll settle for a state level voter's card, just like a driver's license is by state, but to get one, the voter must provide a birth certificate, naturalization certificate or other proof of citizenship and residence. To avoid the multistate residence/voting issue, make that and any other vote fraud a felony crime.

NOPE. The democrats, liberals, progressives are ALL ABOUT VOTER FRAUD. It's what they do.
ReplyDeleteYou also have to wonder why we don't simply mirror Mexico's immigration laws. All Latinos from south of Mexico are promptly jailed until they can be cast out. They've taken to casting them to the north instead of back to the south but their laws are pretty plain. You cannot exist as an illegal in Mexico.
In this country a citizen cannot board a plane without valid ID, or enter a Courthouse or cash a check. How effing stupid are democrats that they think that requiring an ID to vote is somehow disenfranchising poor stupid ignorant people? And why would anybody care if stupid people are too stupid to vote?
Dick has it.
ReplyDeleteVoter registration needs to be through a national database too.
ReplyDeleteDown here in SE Florida it's common to see ads telling NE snowbirds to "be sure and take mail-in registration forms and absentee ballots back North with them in the Spring" before an election.
God know how many double-dipping fraudulent votes are being cast.
Tim - double-dipping fraudulent votes
ReplyDeleteFix for that is you vote where your driver's license is.
A few snowbird Lib weasels getting slapped with 5 years in prison for 'double-dipping' will put a damper on that. Some will still happen, but the incidennce will be waaay down.

And therein lies the problem Dick.
ReplyDeleteIf we will not prosecute illegal felons who violate federal AND local laws, commit rape and other crimes and then turn around and promise to reward them for doing so, what makes you think we'd prosecute anyone for voter fraud?
Signed, Anon at 4:53
Anon at 4:53, 5:46 - I agree, 100%.
ReplyDeleteI was speaking of changes that need to happen, not the status quo.
This is a lawless administration, especially inre: immigration and border security. The previous three admins were as well, as far as dealing with illegal aliens.
We hear ad nauseum, "immigration reform" which is code for amnesty, but until we seal our borders and enforce existing law, it's a fraud on the American people.
