There
always be a "Left". There will always be people who want everything
"leveled" via government. The problem is not the left, the problem lies
with the Constitution's general body. That document lodged the three
powers (lawmaking, law enforcement, law interpretation) required for
tyranny into a single institution, central government. The separation
of powers and "checks and balances" are flimsy barriers against their
coordinated use by a faction. In spite of what Madison argued, factions
can and do take control of government. The Bill of Rights, the other
part of the Constitution, has no defense against the coordinated use of
the three powers by a faction.
We
should have amended the Articles instead of creating an entirely new
plan of government. There would be no executive and no federal judicial
branch. Both these branches have acted lawless and eroded the rights of
individuals and the States.
The stupidity is strong in this one:
ReplyDeleteGet rid of checks and balances;
concentrate all power into one governmental group,
the one that has NEVER "acted lawless and eroded the rights of individuals and the States."
He's kidding, right?!
Dunno; I found it different
