  2. Chris, I'm not sure what the law says on that. I keep getting told one must be convicted of a crime to get a pardon, but I think a president can do it any time. After all, Ford pardoned Nixon, who hadn't been charged.

  4. traditionally the incoming president issues a blanket pardon on the previous one absolving him from any criminal prosecution of anything they did while in office. The most famous of which was Ford pardoning Nixon. He wasn't convicted and the dems were plotting it and were absolutely beside themselves when Ford did that.

  5. so again i say a presidential pardon only relieves the perps of penalties from federal felonies. the states are free to do as they please. scuse the punctuation please im doing this in the semi dark
