re: Doug Kenney
I periodically rifle through my basement archive (clutter) for my collection of Nat Lamps. Nope luck. But A FUTILE AND STUPID GESTURE is good wallow.
Boy we are showing our age. I get an earwig of the Coke Commercial "I'd like to give the world a hug." I think the National Lampoon Version went something like: "I'd like to give the world a hug and tell it jokes and stuff, then I'd pull its pants down to its knees then chase it through the rough. I'd tie it up with ropes and straps then check its purse for change then leave it out at Moosegrin Hall with my cousin who's deranged."
Until recently I had a large collection of National Lampoon. Generally they had aged poorly as entertainment and value-wise they were worth a few bucks each if you could find someone who might want them. I wound up ripping out recurring features I liked such as Politeness Man and Foto Funnies, and keeping a few full issues like the first one, the Frazetta covers, and the iconic "Kill This Dog" cover.
