scream-of-consciousness;
"If you're trying to change minds and influence people it's probably not a good idea to say that virtually all elected Democrats are liars, but what the hell."
I have seen that before. It was very good with an ending that was quite satisfying. Michael Caine is great on screen.
Saw him in an interview once where stated acting was a job, a pay check, after someone asked why he appeared in some "bad" movies. He was then asked how he chose which movie offers to select and he said something to the effect of, I read the first pages of a script and then go to the last page. If I'm still it, I takes the job. Funny without pretense! Loved it.
@Phssthpok-he also noted to the pot farmer that one always needs to keep their weapons in good order. Dry to say the least.
I just watched, for the umpteenth time, Zulu, his first movie. He's been solid for decades. I have always enjoyed Him and Connery in The Man Who Would Be King.
Back in the day, he, Oliver Reed, Richard Burton, Peter O'Toole and Richard Harris were hell raisers from another dimension-there are many videos of them telling stories, worth an hour of your time.
1971 Get Carter in the running for best Caine movie

Thanks for the hint, Roger. Saw it immediately. Loved it. Now I'm seeing news of citizen justice from the right as necessary and required.
ReplyDeleteI don't remember much specific about the film, but the line:
ReplyDelete"...You should have called the girl an ambulance."
always kicked over my giggle switch.
Looks like a British version of Charles Bronson' "Death Wish" (one thru four)
