Study: 'Daily Show' as Substantive as Evening News Programs
Posted by Matthew Sheffield on October 9, 2006 - 10:21.
Liberal comedian Jon Stewart regularly analyzes and criticizes the
cable and broadcast news programs. When someone tries to do the same to
his "Daily Show," however, the Stewart says he's just a comedian doing
"fake news."
That used to be true back in the day when "Daily" was primarily
comprised of spoof reports and fake interviews. But since Iraq war
started, "Daily" has largely turned into a nightly bash-Republicans
program, with the news of the day as the cudgel. In so doing, Stewart

the Liberal Democrats are so funny...
ReplyDeletethe CBS-NBC-ABC-CNN version of the news has been a comedy show for years now...
no difference here...
lost, confused, misguided, weak, inept, not to be taken seriously...
Well, yes. John Stewart used to be funny before liberals put him on the pedestal of "truth"...where they once had Dennis Miller. Now, he's just a putz. IMO, Miller's intellect is a Goliath compared to Stewart's any day of the week, hands down, without *faking* the news.
ReplyDeleteI only hope that [the Pew Research Center survey...that showed 21 percent of Americans aged 18 to 29 naming The Daily Show and Saturday Night Live as their primary information sources on the presidential race]was incorrect. That is way frightening to me.
But, it seems public schools these days, don't teach students to ask questions and seek facts. It's more like the instructors have their captive audiences and spoon feed them what they will. Add to that, the text books are misleading and down right untruthful, and I guess John Stewart could be a an information guru . Juice
TV is a toilet. I can't imagine using my precious time watching that garbage. My impression of Stewart pegs my snarky meter. Good grief.
